Been told that my clutch is slipping by my uncle who is a car dealer so he know wht he is talking about, if i bought the clutch from K-tec does any1 know a rough price on how much it would be to fit.

As Fred mentioned it depends on the competence of the garage, Can be expensive depending where you get it done, you wouldn't get much change from £800-900 from a dealer I'd imagine whereas a specialist would probably change around half that?!?!? Roughly, I could be lying.

buy your clutch from euro-parts, got one for my mates 1.2 for £35.
had to drop the sub frame out to get to the little bugger though. and being a french car be prepaired to use every tool in your tool box.

I got mine fitted at a place called "Lee clutches and gearboxes" in Lee/Lewisham, cost me £120 in labour to have my clutch fitted, and that's on a cup, i was amazed, thought it would be about 300ish!

Is it definitely slipping?

Isn't there some triick to put it in fourth at low speed then accelerate hard and, if the noise rises and you don't increase speed straight away, it's definitely going?

Stick it in 5th at 30mph and floor it, if the revs rise and your speed doesn't then its slipping.

i got quoted 350 + VAT so fitted it my self. took ages but passed the mot 2 days after so all is good
