Right, i'm wanting to get a cat 1 alarm but want to keep the normal renault plip key if possible and this looks to be the thing i'm after. I know the oem renault alarm uses the normal plip so i'm assuming that this is similar to the one used.
The price quite surprised me as you can get it for £64.99 + fitting.

Just wondering what do people think of it and cobra in general ? Worth having ?

Hi Mate,

Ive got this one on my 182 and think its great. Never had any faults and works very well.

It does work off the original renault key too...

Price seems very cheap !!! Mine was £250 inc fitting. Just have to make sure a qualified Cobra fitter fits it to be classed as cat 1.

Thats where its avaliable from, will have to ring tomorrow to find out about cost of fitting.
Have bought audio tackle off them before and been to the shop in brum, there work seemed ok on the installs they were doing at the time and they did know their stuff. Would of thought they were a qualified fitter but i'll have to ask when I ring, otherwise i'll just buy the kit and take it to a qualified fitter.

Does anyone know of any certified alarm fitters in the midlands area ?, am prepared to travel as long as its a good job.

Right just been quoted £180 to fit if I supplied it or £250 supplied and fitted by a local car audio/alarm place. Seem like a fair price ?

How did you find the service with them?, seeing as they do nationwide installation i'll rather go with them as you don't seem to have had any problems.

The service was a mixed bag to be honest.

I think how it works is, your deal with and buy the alarm off 'driven in car' and they find a qualified cobra installer to fit it.

The service from Driven In Car was excellent;friendly girl i always spoke to, knew alot about the alarms and kept in regualr contact. The problem was that the fitter was unreliable, and so when i booked it in, the guy often didnt turn up. I went slightly ape after the 3rd time and think they did the same to the fitter and eventually got it done.

So bacically, i think it was just the guy outside of their control that let it down a bit but the service from the company was very good. They also phoned a couple times after installation to see if i was happy with it before paying.

Right well i'll give them ago then, the only problem with the local place is that I don't know anything about them other than they've been there for about a year.
Hopefully I won't have any problems but as long as their helpful in getting it sorted then that'll do me.
