Coilover camber adjustment

  Williams 2
Hi....does anybody know of any companies in Bucks/Oxford that can laser align and set-up the camber on coilovers for my MK1 cos I really need to get it done asap and I can't find anybody who will do it? Thanks...Matt:cool:

You can do it yourself if yu have a level garage to work on.

Most back street garags can set them up you need to know what you want it set up with though ie how much camber toe in etc you want to run.

go to that Northampton Motorsport, would'nt worry about a few pennys extra if they know what they are doing, might aswell get the whole lot done while your there ( tracking, camber, and height if it needs it)

cheers m8....if I was to only get the fronts lowered and then lower the rear myself at a later date would this effect the camber on the fronts again?

Took my car down to the guys in merityres in abingdon after fitting my coilovers and setting the ride height. only cost £35 IIRC to set tracking and camber to what i wanted.

Dont just take it to a "garage", you want someone that can do a proper set-up...ideall RH's, then camber, then toe. the problem is they all have a knock on effect on each other...so you cant just adjust one, as then other settings need tweaking.

it also helps if the people doing it understand what they are doing....

I had mine done at northampton motorsport ride height, camber, toe and corner weights cost £200. Which is alot but worth it IMO.

ok guys....cheers. Looks like i'll be going to Northhampton Motorsport then. In order to get the camber adjustment, i've have to grind down some of the hubs and thin the bolts down to get the movement.....is it ok to use bolts that have a lot of play....or are they likely to move? Should I use some washer to maybe eliminate this? Matt
