coilovers?

All,

im a bit embarresed asking this, but what are coilovers, i mean i know they are suspension parts, but what do they replace and what benifits can i expect compared to my standard 172?

they're fully adjustable dampers/springs that replace the existing dampers/springs

you can adjust the damper rating (hard/soft) or adjust the ride height.
can get different spring rates as you wish

will lower car improving looks, reduce body roll, and will handle considerably better. go round corners faster etc..

Decent ones allow dampen rate adjustment etc, whereas cheap ones only offer height.
