Thinking about gettig coilovers for my 172cup but not very clued up on things like that so i was wondering if anyone can help, will they make the ride any harder or can you set them up so the car sits slighty lower but the ride is the same as standard

With coilovers you can adjust the ride height but the best thing is to have it profeshionally set up by Yozzasport or Mark fish etc they will adjust the camber height etc to what they thing is the best setup for what you use the car ie track, fast road, hill climb, etc.

Personaly I'd just go for H and R. Forget Gaz at all cost.
Most setups ie H and R have fixed damping and its often better than the stock setup if you drive the car a bit quicker.

Bit misleading there, H&R are the best for certain people. Personally i wouldn't spend loads of money on coilovers that weren't adjustable.

If money is no object i'd say it's in between the Ledas or Bilstein.

Your right, I was going to edit my early post but for 90% of people the H and R are idea. If you have the extra money and want the best leda or blistein are better and give you more adjustment option but its a lot of extra money which most people won't use.

i cant say anthing bad about my h+r's. The ride is a million times better than my fk coilovers that i had on the 1.2 too.

Would H&Rs be ideal then for someone who maybe only does 2 or 3 trackdays a year? I take it they're height adjustable? How easy are they to adjust?

H&R's offer spot on damping for the road and not bad for track. As long as you get the height and camber setup correctly there's no issues.

But I wouldn't use camber bolts.
