Cold air feed from fog

  1.2 Dynamique billabong
hi guys,

some pikey at the garage i got my car lowered at nabbed my fog light bulb and mounting (leaving the lens - i didnt realise till changing my bumper over). i was therefore thinking about fitting a cold air feed from the fog for my induction kit. what size trumpet fits into an RS front fog surround and is there any modification required.

or does anyone know where i can get the fog bulb holder from without having to buy a new fog unit

cheers
James

I used a plain black plastic 3" sub box base port. fit's flush straight into the fog light surround, and doesn't stand out at all. Looks really good and only cost £1.99. I used to have a silver alu trumphet that fitted nicely but it still looked rubbish

I need some help, I've got pics of the feed but don't know how to post them on here I've started a thread already and it's had a massive 3 views and no replys.

If someone can tell me how to do it I post them up tomorrow morning

Cheers bud, pics of my V6 airbox and feeds, it still needs a little trimming to get it to sit even but looks fairly standard

Looks cool :) Although that gap just to the left of the trumpet would irritate me if it was mine. Also I'd maybe try find some black tubing for the feed as that shiny foil stands out a bit. But that's just tiny details TBH, good job on the DIY Maxogen :)

I know what you mean. I already had the ducting, worst bit is it's black on the outside and silver on the inside :dapprove: . The CAF still needs a little trimming to get a nice fit. Problem is where a wire clips into the bumper beside the folight to hold it out of the way, I've got to find somewhere to hold it out of the way.

Does it sound alot better dave ?

It does!!!

When I first fitted it I only had the short rubber hose picking up from behind the headlight from the inner arch. This had a real induction roar at full throttle (although I didn't like it too much until after 4k).

I've now connected a CAF from this all the way to the foglight and it's cut out the induction roar, but after 4k you do get a nice quiet little throaty sound, enough to know that it's not standard

You dont need anything. Just use some silicone adhesive to attach some 100mm ducting to the rear. That's how mine is done and still attached fine after many trackdays and removal of the bumper.

yeah had a long time reading some more old threads. wondered why people dont do it so much anymore! does it get s**t all over your filter having them in the fogs?

I had em on my ph1. nothing went wrong with it. surely a stone would have a job travelling a good foot vertically up a hose!?
