Cold air feed

  clio 172
I have had an induction kit fitted for some time (2 years) but due to laziness i never fitted the cold air feed.
I have suddenly regained interest in the car (i go through stages) and have decided to fit it before the summer comes.
Only problem is i cant find a direct path for it to run without squashing the pipe to much. if anyone has this done could you please let me know where you ran it. i was planning to take it from the lower front grill!

Also i have a bell mouth from a viper induction kit. still not sure best way to mount it in grill. any suggestions would be very helpful.

Cheers

long way round by the battery , across down the back of the light fitting and around to the lower grill

Any pics you have would be much appreciated.

I used a hacksaw blade. It was a clean cut. Do not recommend doing it though. I regretted it after a few months. Sitting behind the grill like the above pic will get just as much air in.

i used a stanley knife. dead easy. just took about 15 mins. only did it about 2-3 weeks ago.

the pipe wouldnt reach further accross the grill (ie past the filled in squares), so i simply cut through the thin "filled in squares" although i may be getting the wrong end of the skin massively if you guys both mean cutting right through the grill

As said above. I don’t recommend doing it as a new grill from Renault cost about £50 and I don’t believe it improves airflow compared to having it behind the grill. Its more a styling mod really. Looks cool but when you plan to sell the car on, most prefer the standard look and or trade peps will make a big issue out of it when valuing your p.x

And it looks better than this silly funnel coming out the grill, i think you'd get away with it on a big bhp jap turbo'd motor but not a N/A clio :S

Well thats my opinion ;)

Dangreen17 just wondering did you have to cut away any plastic from the inside panels to get the pipe there ?

It looks like a side splash guard that meets the front of the rad is in the way on mine ?

pics would be good if you have any mate

Cheers

hi dudes, so sorry i have been away for quite a while, and have not got my car anymore. really gutted i sold it as i need the money for £4350. its not so much that i think i wold it too cheaply, its more that i miss it sooo much!! well, did i sell it too cheaply? alloys needed refurbishing, and had two minor marks where it had been keyed. apart from that mint. piper X induction kit was only mod. 52k on clock cambelt service at Rentech, apart from that FRSH, 6 months tax, 12 months MOT. how much could i pick up a similar one for now?
