Colour change with tape

I have and idea. Where do I stand if half the colour of my car is temporarily changed, bit like those guys did with detailing tape?

Do I need to inform insurance?
What would possible punishment be?
Would it invalidate insurance?

Its just for a laugh and would only be over the summer months.

My car is covered in the Clio sport graffix and Insurance company said it wasn't a mod

Mines gunna be 2/3 or the car a different colour though.

phoning and asking them would surely be a worthwhile idea as all insurers are different

It'll be fine.

No different to having a car covered in mud/dirt, imo.
