you'll need Primer, Paint and Lacquer as well as various grades of sand paper. there's plenty of videos online about how to do it if you're just using spray-cans, you can get pistol-grip style aerosol adapters too if you feel that'll make it easier for you to spray the paint on.
You can theoretically get everything you need from the likes of halfords, though sometimes their paint in cans isn't always an exact match, especially if your colour has a few shades, you can always get it made up at a bodyshop if you wished.
Then you sand the parts down to 'key' them, this gives the primer something to grab onto on the surface, let it dry and sand back again using finer grades, then once it's flat and primed, spray the paint on making sure not to spray it too close or heavy to prevent running.
Then once you're finished with the paint coats, you lacquer it up to protect the paint and give it the glossy finish. A video wil lshow you in much greater detail though.
The above is all theory, I'm hoping to do my strips and mirrors soon, but I left my cup spoiler into a spray-shop to have it done properly!
