I have resprayed my boot strip, it has got its top coat and i was wondering if before i laquer it, do i need to rub down the top coat with some 1500 gritt W & D?
someone will probably correct me but here goes anyway....i would put 3-4 coats of paint on, wait till its properly dry, w&d with 1500 and loads of soapy water then give it a final thin top coat. when that ones dry, put the laquer on straight on. you can always w&d and polish the laquer afterwards to get a perfect finish..
The reason i asked is because the spraying leaves little bobbles on the finish and i obviously want it smooth like the rest of the motor so wouldnt a final thin coat still cause this bobbling effect?
Or would it look fine once i have applied the laquer and rubbed that down with w&d?
