Colour coding - what primer?

Colour coded the rub strips on my mk2, they've came out darker than I wanted and I was wondering if it was due to the grey primer I used?
Anyone else got any thoughts as to why it might be?

primer shouldnt make any difference to the colour tbh, maybe a bad paint mix? sun fading etc?

Agreed, grey primer is the norm so it must be down to the paint shade
