Stop spending money when you don;t need to dude!
Nothing wrong with the standard set-up!
4 pots,why?
How about this then then gex.
Give me and Pepsi your car + £600. We will sort the brakes for you and let you know when its sorted.
Lol but seriously i recently bought new Brembo HC discs and Renault OEM pads off Pete@Autonation on here for £96 delivered. Pepsi fitted them for me in about 30mins and i slipped him £20. Job done and slight upgrade at the same time.
4 Pots are not really a lot better than upgraded standards dude in braking force (from what I've read from people in the know) but they will be pretty much fade free all the time.
On my 182 I fitted braided lines, race fluid, Brembo MAX discs and redstuff pads, the braking was stupid, I got a few bargains but even so it would come in way under 600 quid! Unless you live on a track 4 pots arent all that.
Although to be fair, I reckon James (Sargara)'s idea is pretty much the best way forward for you
Do these come as a complete kit? Brackets and all?
Cheers
Anthony
Yep, all the fittings and fixings in the kit,IIRC now including Goodridge braided lines.
I have this kit fitted to my 172, great stopping power, and no fade whatsoever.
'Hi, I'd like to waste some money today, anything you could suggest?'
'Certainly sir, 4 pot brakes are quite a good way to spend a lot of money for little on road gain...'
'Perfect, I'll take 2 sets, costs more that way'

Flether, no, just a bit of friendly banter more than anything!!

Get the Brembo discs and bit i suggested above and put the rest towards that instead of 4pots
I thought as much
gex you know you want them
4 pots are worth it.....if you do a decent amount of track days
I'd recommend my setup. Tarox G88 discs with DS2500 pads and Goodridge braided lines.
Nuts IMO. I've been on track driving my car, then passengering in a car on 4pots. No difference in stopping power.
How often do you track your car?
Madness, utter madness. Seats?
Its your car, spend your money how you like and also enjoy it
^ How about:
Leather interior from 172?
Xenon headlights?
Stainless exhaust?
Some 2118's and tyres?
Recaros?
Matched Inlets and Remap?
Etc
I wouldnt personally buy a maxogen, matched inlets are better if you havnt got them.
As for brakes brembo HCs and Ds2500s are a nice combo
I've got these. Better driving position, comfort, and support than the CS fav Trendlines.

Get a couple of subframes, onto a winner.
Look, whether you need them or not...They look 100% better and thats all that matters!
Lets be honest, most people fit coils for stance over performance. Those who set their cars up for track very rearly care if theres a spec of dirt on their cars.
4 pots are significantly better than 172 OEM brakes. Been there done that! Although i would buy AP's not Compbrakes if i did it again!
