Complete Novice - 56k No Way

I'd just like to say first of all, I am a complete novice to this whole photography thing but anyways here goes.

Was a nice enough day and I decided to go a drive taking my Dads Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18. I haven't a clue if this is good or not, but its certainly better than my 2mp Digi camera.

Anyway here are a couple of the snaps I managed to get. Only a couple turned out good enough to post but let me know what you think.

The landscapes are a bit hazy and have lost some contrast but you could bring that back easily enough in Photoshop or Lightroom. I had to google Dumbarton Rock, it looks like a nice part of the world.

Your car is definitely a contender for the dirty car comp!!
