Complex lights!

  PH-QUICK
Right! This is quiet a long story/problem so here we go:

I got me a Mk2Ph1 clio, so naturally i wanted some new rear lights. So i got some ph2 lights (nice refined after market ones, but that dosnt effect anything). But they didn't come with the bulb holder board - so i'm using the original ph1 holder.

So i started to use them like that as standard - brakes and rears at the top with indicators next, then reverse, then fogs at the bottom. BUT like this the rears looked very pink as the after market lights have the top bulb without a red tint, so the red bulb gave a pink colour - not good (illegal?) SO thinking i would be clever and wire them up so the lights were actually in the right place for a ph2's -

But as many people have my offside fog didnt work, so i wired it up to the other one like so . All good so far.

i.e rears/brakes bottom and fogs at the top. so i co*ked around with the wiring and in the end even when i put them all back to original the top driver side rear light wont work:eek: though the brake light would, both reverse lights wont work and strangely neither will my rear windscreen wiper. So now im wired up so that both my top bulbs (rears) dont work so i can use the fog bulb bottom ones as standards.

So any ideas as to how to get my rev' lights working again and the wiper??? Also can i just get a ph2 bulb holder to put in and make everything work??

Thanks

You cannot use the old ph1 bulb holders in the ph2 lights, first of all they do not fit and second of all the holder is wired differently. Swapping the wires around will only confuse things even more, your best bet is to get some ph2 bulb holders and wire it up for a ph2.

I think the top passenger side rear light is blanked out on the ph1 holder and you only need 1 fog light on the drivers side.

Hope that makes sense.

Yea thats my plan, but im using the ph1 holders rigged up at the moment until then, still dosn't explain why my rear wiper and reverse lights dont work!

Right its all fixed, turns out one fuse controls the front water pump, the rear pump, rear wiper AND the reverse lights:S

Soldered up my lights so the rears are now controlled by the fog light twist on the light stalk, so its all good:)
