Got alot of condensation in one of my headlights..all of the watetproof caps are on. Someone suggested whack a silica bag that you get in shoeboxes in there, is this a solution?
Probably not a bad idea. Take headlight out, bring indoors, hang some silica bags in there on string and leave for a day or two. No idea if that will work, but worth a shot.
I imagine this will resisit some moisture because theoretically thats its main purpose. Have you taken the headlight light out and investigated for cracks where water vapour can penetrate? If i were you, just a suggestion....Dismantle the headlight ensure all water particles/droplets are removed then assemble the headlight making it watertight. The moisture is obviuosly trying to escape.
I've had/have this. took the light unit out, removed the bulbs and removed all the rear casing, stuck it in the oven on the lowest heat and waited until it was nice n dry.... the moisture is back this year.
Cheers for all the suggestions! Will try the silica first, just whack a couple of sachets in there..if that doesnt work ill look at resealling the casing....thanks!
I took the waterproof rubber part off the back of the headlight case whilst I was at work today and then drive with my headlights on home and all the condensation seems to have gone for now! Fingers crossed!
