connecting aerial to headunit

Got a problem, just bought a new headunit. Alpine iDA-X001, was setting it up today and all is peachy except for one thing, it tells me to connect the aerial to the headunit ... great.. except for the fact that my aerial is in the form of a plug ( which plugged into the back of the original clio unit) and the alpine aint got a place to "plug" the aerial in, so do i have to remove that plug and simply connect the aerial wires from the car to the unit? Reliable help will be greatly appreciated :D

PS: no offence to anyone wanting to help, but unless you know what you talking bout, please dont post about how you think you heard this one guy of a friend say that it should be done ....... cant afford to scr*w it up ;)

yeah perhaps, however the headunit requires me to simply connect 2 wires...with out any plugs or nawt, hence seems like the adaption needed is simply cutting of the plug from the aerial and bridging it to the headunit aerial wire. But like i said i aint sure if its that simple. cheers for the suggestion ;)

i got more problems, besides my setup not running at all after being wired up, when i try starting the car with the power lead connected to the battery, the car wont start, seems to have an over ride switch or something to that effect....anyone know how i can sort this problem out?
