I got a 1.4 auto 02 plate fill up around 55 quid, to that I get around 280 mile town drivin. Does that seem right

That seems pretty reasonable for an auto. Although I'm sure i used to get a bit more out of my old one...
When was it last serviced? Could possibly get a couple more MPG by giving it a good service?

By town driving I assume lots of start stop, sub 30mph for short distances...

From that I got 38psi.

Thats far too high mate, 32 at the front and 29 at the back.

I always run mine 2bar at the rear and 2.2bar at the front. So 38 is a bit too high!

Still thinking about it, I'd hope to get 33-34mpg...

I though bar was the old way and PSI was the new?

2 bar = 29.0075475 pounds per square inch

2.2 bar = 31.9083023 pounds per square inch

Megane R26 - fill up on £70 and get around 280-300 mixed driving... that is about 24-26mpg combined...

£55 @ 1.33p per litre over 280 miles - I make that about 30mpg... not too bad for an auto around town...

About £50ish these days to fill mine - get about 280-290 miles and lots of mixed driving, mostly wee town runs though
Oh and I don't let my fuel light come on so still have 10+ litres when I do top up :)
