Contacts synced?

Slightly odd topic but I jut read that other thread about the fella who's ipone has crashed, he's lost his contacts. Mine are all synced with google, but I was under the impression iTunes saved them all somewhere too??

Think there's an option in iTunes to enable contact syncing. But they should be part of the back-up.

Yeah if you restore your phone from an iTunes backup the contacts should come back too.
