coolant advice please

I need some coolant for my 182, what do I need to be asking renault for? Anything specific or will they know exactly what I need? And how many litres do I need? Price?

Also, can I just top the coolant up or does it need drained etc first? It is sitting bang on the min. line at present.

It's ment to be changed fully every 4 years I think, no idea on price.

Also, is it normal that the coolant level falls over time? I am not sure if it has ever been changed, wonder if it is low due to time or if I have a leak...

I thought it was closer to 7 litres?

Unless the stuff in at the moment is the renault stuff then id do a full change as mixing different ones can have funny reactions.

It shouldnt drop in theory as its a sealed system.

people your buying it from should be able to tell you how much you need, how much it is, and you already know which one to get ;-)

imo you should drain, fill with just water to flush it, drain and refill with new coolant...

Takes about 5 litres, but renault state 7 litres, just go for renault type D green engine coolant, at £10 for 5 litres you cant fall off

if there is no sign of a leak then chances are its not leaking...

full system from dry including heater matrix etc is close to 7 litres but for a coolant change you will only ever need 5 litres, type D coolant from renault or german swedish and french

it could just have been low for a while if you dont think it has ever been changed and yours cars 4+ years you may as well get it all changed, if its newer or has been done in the past just top it up.
