You should really be using Renault Type D coolant - the green stuff.

I think the ph1 172 engine is the same as a 182 when it comes to coolant:

Iirc i payed £23 for 10 litre's of Type D coolant from my stealer's it's worth putting the proper stuff in and it look's pretty cool

Type D or the advanced formulation stuff from halfords will be ok.
