Coolant possible problem ?

Car  182
So i set about changing the thermostat today which went fine but lost possibly 4-5 litres of coolant. So off i go to Halford to get some. It was pure concentrate not realising i topped up.

All seems fine but most likely running more coolant/antifreeze than water. Stupid i know. Will this cause any issues? Id say there's probably around 2 litres of water in

Nah it shouldn't cause any problems mate. Just keep an eye on it for the next few days to make sure it's not sprung a leak anywhere and you'll be fine.

You will have done well to lose 4-5l of coolant by changing the thermostat mate, unless you had a fag before you put the new one in.

It will probably be better having 70/30 coolant than the other way round.

I had to replace my radiator, I just filled up with 4l of Renault type d, should I have put water in with it ?

Depends on whether the bottom hose was disconnected. I did this to save coolant going everywhere and to change the coolant as well.

Depends on who you talk to. Water is a better coolant than antifreeze with its heat transfer properties. But yes, on a modern ally engine I'd probably got with a little more.

Pure guess tommy lad. But should be ok

As Davyy said it's premixed by Renault
