Coolant temp sensor

  Ph1 172
Hi,

I'm hoping somebody can help me out here! Basically the issue i'm having is at cold start its very lumpy, and cuts out. It also cuts out when just driving along, it could either be ICV or coolant temp sensor. Throttlebody has been replaced with a new gasket, and because its a ph1 172 it doesn't use fly by wire. I know where the ICV is and can replace that no problem, my issue is i am unsure as to where the coolant temp sensor is, or where it goes? If somebody has a guide anywhere? or possibly point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated:rasp:

The coolant temp sensor is on the right hand side of the engine and is the only sensor screwed in to the thermostat housing... it has two wires coming from the multiplug. The sports do have a rather lumpy cold start idle which is oftern confused as a problem when its quite normal however sometimes, faulty HO2's and CTS's can make a bad idle worse.

The stall could be being caused by a faulty and/or fouled up IACV so take this out and give it a good blast with something like Carb or Brake cleaner (Don't forget to pull the rubber O-ring with it as this can get lost inside the upper plenum when refitting).
