Cooling Fan

My fan stays on for about 10 minutes after switching off, i wouldnt normally be worried because of the hot weather recently but yesterday the weather was normal and it was still doing its thing...should i check anything out? Before the hot weather it didnt stay on after at all.

Ive noticed in my valver that if the fan does kick in just before I stop the car, itll end up staying on for about 5minutes. Think its because it finds it difficult to cool down when the engines off i.e. water pump not on.

indeed, once the temp switch for the fan switches off.....thats all.

It must be normal... I only just noticed this the last two days aswell, that i returned to the car within 2 or 3 minutes and it was still running.

its dependant on the engine tempreture on switch off

the fan comes on if its hot, and the anti perculation valve operates (as there is no water pump)

perfectly normal

the auxillary water pump on the f7s run for 8mins after the engine has been switched off. not sure wether the 172s have this?
