copper filings in coolant?

  monaco 172
Just been draining my coolant in the process of trying to find this damn leak and also to check my thermostat and noticed the coolant has got what looks like copper filings in it? Is this just a type of coolant which has been previsously used or is itsomething serious?

I've noticed this on mine. I'd had some problems with the blanking plug on the rad leaking, and can only think this was to do with it, as the threaded insert on the radiator is copper. They only appeared after the leak started. They are sooo fine they wont really do any harm. Just give it a good flush though, re-fill and bleed. I did this after repairing the leak and its fine.

Looks like someones been using rad weld or the likes

Hmm so could this explain my leak then, somebody noticed the rad was leaking so chucked some rAd weld in?

I've flushed it though, but looks like the rad is going to have to come ou for inspection then.
