Brace for the event that it may or may not come with a blank plug installed where the fan switch sits on a ph1. I bought a Valeo rad and it was a chore finding and buying the right size plug for it.

A friend had this Nissens rad installed on his 172.

As a result of the top & bottom mounting rails being the same width as the core, over the years the cowling for the cooling fan wore into the core, resulting in it`s failure.

This could have been avoided had the fan been installed with some spacers.

Renault have introduced a replacement part at a realistic price, as part of it`s Motrio range, part number 8660000436, manufactured to the correct OE spec, which avoids this problem..

Beaten to the punch. I was just going to say that customer emailed me this morning about his findings.

I didn't really notice this when fitting the radiator on my 182, are they the same fans? Tempted to have a look now but its a pain for access without removing the radiator

On the Nissen? You sure you ordered the right one and not a valeo?
Oh yeah you're quite correct, I got a Valeo as it was only £40 plus a plug I found for £4, at the time the Nissens were more like £56
