Correcting offset!

  182
Im enquiring about making wheels fit my car, They are 8x16" but et 32, which is not the right offset of 45 for the 182, but would i be able to fight a 10 mm spacer( which should make them 42, if i think im right?) Then i would not have any rubbing problems? Is that all right, or have i got it wrong.
cheers

You're working the wrong way round mate, the lower the offset the more the wheel sticks out in the arch, so adding a 10mm spacer will make them ET22. This measurement is how far the centr e of the wheel is from the mounting face onto the hub.

I wouldn't worry about spacers though, I think you should be alright at that striaght on depending on if the car is lowered or not?

I'm running 16x7's at ET35 with the car as low as I can and it's fine.

Also depends on your tyre choice, i run 195 wide tyres so not catching, I'm guessing you're going for stretch? In which case you'd be fine

Et32 on a eight inch rim will stick out at the rear beyond the arch you can't go über low and will need some stretch

I knew i was a little mixed up, understand now, wasnt going for the euro look, was more to fill the arch. i guess all i can do is try it out n see. It does seem to be the rears that are gonna be the problem!

The spacers will only lower the offset hence increasing the amount they stick out. Have material removed from back of the stud face to raise the offset slightly.

You can't do that as the thickness here is critical to hold the wheel bolt on.
