Cost to fit an engine?

how much we talking to change over an engine ie 172 engine to 172 engine. Obviously it's a fairly straight forward swap but how much should I expect to pay or how many hours labour is reasonable?

Shouldn't take more than 6 hours from turning key off to back on.

Depends on state clutch : it may need replacing at same time.Belts etc are easier to change when engine is out,as well

While its out you may as well. Saves getting back I there again if your planning on keeping it a while.

Yep, change the clutch and release bearing.

£200-250 for someone for cash IMO.

I charge £475 + parts. That's based on it being a completely bare engine so all the ancillaries swapped etc.

Good price that tbh considering it's a specialist.

Someone on the driveway will always be cheaper. With that comes no comeback though...
