Crack on windscreen

Hi boys and girls, ive noticed a crack appearing on the top of my windscreen which is gettin bigger. is it guna cave on me and kill me? should i change it asap?

Get onto the RAC windscreens page and Im sure they have explanations on there about what is legal and not.

If you are fully comp, it will only cost ya £50 anyway.

The 172 Cup screens are thinner than the normal 172 screen and isnt solar reflective, so some people ask for the normal 172 screen when its replaced.

change it matey asap,just to avoid it caving in,we dont want it letting pop down the motorway do we,or anywhere else for that matter.

It shouldnt doesnt on mine (Im with direct line).

If they can fix it, they will do it for free, if it needs a new one its 50 bucks.

Check your insurance details tho, as I dont think mine does RAC, its AutoWindscreen, or someone else anyway!

I got the solar reflective screen replaced by accident. The guy from auto windscreens had already come out and said its worth a lot more than the green tint cup screen. It doesnt reflect f**k all though lol. Still sweat my tits off in when its hot.

Ahhhh the aircon haha!!

I had no idea the Cup windscreens were different, such a minor thing I wouldnt have thought they would bother. Whats the difference in weight?

By the way in response to the above it wont affect your no claims if you get a new screen, I claimed for one on my old car and had no problems.

Theres probably no difference in weight, well thats what the windscreen guy said and he fits em! The only addition would be the solar insert. The green tint screen goes in other clios iirc so not a bespoke part.

Also how to they replace the wiper sensor when they change your screen? I assume it just comes of the screen??
