crank sensor

hi guys, isit possible for the crank sensor to be faulty within 4-5 months of fitting??

i got my old one changed due to car not starting properly and it cured the problem, now its happening again, car turns over a few times but wont start, had to get it push started yesturday! i also have the new sensor with the new loom.

also, on cold starts the car smells more fuelly then usual (always had a decat) and idles pretty low until warm, but i have a feeling thats a mapping issue, but im sure the starting problem isnt??

well, if anybody can suggest any ideas that would be great before i mission it back up to gdi

my crank sensor did this... it was "supposed" to have been replaced at a garage I took it to locally, but it looked like they never did. Eventually it just wouldn't start, so had it taken to GDI by the AA and it was fixed that day lol.

i think i may need to get the cold start probz checked tomo by andy, u got any idea where the crank sensor is mate?i think i know the one as its got 4 wires coming out of it, but is held on to the block by a nut??

Not sure tbh, give Andy a quick call and he'll be able to tell you over the phone, as he did mine the other month. iirc it's a pretty minor and quick thing to change though... don't quote me on that though! lol

two bolts hold it in above the g-box.

how long has the cold start been a issue/ who mapped it? if its running rich it cold damage the engine..

cold start only a problem for the last week, andy knows what to do about that and has told me to try a new tdc sensor

the problem i have with finding the tdc sensor is that my whole engine is painted black lol
