Crank shaft shells

  Clio 220 lpg
Doe,s anyone know where you can get smaller shells from. Renault only make standard size shells for clio 172 48mm doe's anyone know a supplyer for smaller 47.5-47.75mm

if you regrind the crank you go for a thcviker shell than std, usually 0.25mm, depending on how bad the damage is, suppliers that supply std size cranks usually offer over sized ones, your machine shop where the work is being done on the crank should have a decent supplier or two

You can buy oversized one ring round places who regrind cranks or tunners they'll be be able to get hold of them.

Big ends are only one grind undersize...10thou/0.25mm. They are available off the shelf from Federal Mogul.

problem is none of these aftermarket bearings are 'tough'.

You can grind the crank to size where your running circa 1.5 thou rather than 2-2.2.
