Crankshaft bolt

  LY R26 #288
Can anybody confirm the torque and angle setting for the crankshaft pulley bolt?.

In the F4R 730 manual it says 2 daN.m + 135 degrees +/- 15 degrees

and then later on in the manual when its showing you how to set the timing it says to do it up to 2 daN.m + 115 degrees +/- 15 degrees.

Anyone confirm what one it is?.

Also while we're on the subject I noticed that the torque for the timing belt tensioner isnt all that tight (2.8daN.m), do you guys use threadlock on the tensioner nut?.

Cheers.

I'll look it up later on the specific tech manual but i'm guessing the manual for the '730 you have is simply an 'update' of the earlier manuals and its proberbly a clerical error. I've always gone with an initial 20Nm then 120 degrees on the dial. The tensioner nut doesn't need threadlocking either... its plenty tight enough at 30Nm.

Thanks for clearing that up. My torque wrench is in ftlb!. So I've had to convert them all but I think I'm all set.

I'm going to be using all the torque settings specified in that manual so I hope theres no more errors! :dead:
