Crashed

  R26

Crashed my car this morning. Totally gutted.

Morning rush hour running the gf home and was pulling out a side street left onto the main street. Went straight into a Vr6.

The cars in front did come to a sudden stop but in all honesty I took my eye of the road for that split second. Cant believe it at all.

Damage wise the front end is more or less all gone. Bumper, Bonnet, Wings, Arches and head and fog lights. Clutch wouldnt go down either.

Anyone know if this sounds like a write off?

The golf in front was barley unmarked. Couple of stress marks on the back pannels but the rear was almost spotless.

All this was done at no more than 5-8mph.

Cant describe the feeling I got right now, total emptyness.

£500 excess Im gonna have to fork out too.

Put my hand up on this one and took all blame. Really nervous with the police there and that.

Can some of you please tell me this kinda thing happens alot and itl be ok as just now I fell as if Ive done the worst crime in the world

Gutted for you mate. Sounds sh*t, but you start learning after being in accidents. Ive had 3 now, none were my fault I must add.

I hope you get it sorted ASAP, I hope you declared the wheels...

Dont worry, it was a simple mistake, thats what insurance is for. Just learn from the experience, it will make you a better drive in the long run (thats what I told myself  )

As long as you and the gf are ok thats your main worry.

Gutted for your car - I know how you feel. (My 1st was written off at my front door by a lorry - thankfuly wasnt in it)

A lot of people really do learn from their mistakes on the road. Hope you get sorted

Hope youre both OK. I wrote off my Audi by running into the back of a Mondeo at 20mph back last November. Yours will probably be a write-off as it sounds like a lot more damage than I had on mine.

Gutted mate.

Wouldnt have thought the Police will be arsed at all, and if they do take an interest they are being bloody petty.

As long as you were both insured and youre prepared to be bombared with legal vulture type letters that you have to forward to the inusrance company, then its fine.

How much NCB you going to lose?

Cheers guys.

Was in my mums name and this was her 1st year outwith my dads policy so no ncb lost.

Everyone was fine, as I say really low speed. Airbags didnt deploy or that.

:(

Dont worry about it, accidents happen - thats what your insurance is for. I have done the same myself three years ago, straight into the back of a ford escort. The clio took it really well, the escorts back end was a right mess! The police turned up and gave me a right grilling! as if i didnt know how much a stupid mistake i had made! They only made me feel worse! I always check twice now before pulling out!

Everyone was fine,
Thats the most important thing. Use it as a learning experience.
I took roundabouts a lot more carefully after sliding my 900 sports bike down the road into a metal barrier and escaping only with a few minor injuries.

yeah was a bit of a harsh comment rasp, like you never sneezed when your driving or anything, god i hate that.....

Sorry to hear that mate, just as long as youre OK. I was gonna post up and say I thought your car looked pretty smart when you passed me on Saturday on the M8...

I had a couple of own-fault accidents when I was 18 - basically not paying enough attention. Ive learned from them and am probably a better driver for it. Hope yours gets all sorted soon.

Again, sorry to hear of your accident. I had my car written off a few weeks ago, still trying to get it all sorted
