Creaking at the front

Car  Clio 182 cup'd
I went over a set of speed bumps the other day, and since then the front of the car creaks when I turn the steering.

I've done some searching which suggested thetop mounts, anyway I had abit of a play and if the wheel is jacked up off the ground it doesn't creak, I also reckon the noise is from behind the brake disc,

Any ideas?

Thanks

creaking is it more like a banging or clicking. And does it happen now when you turn or just go over bumps generally?

creaking more like a creaking door as opposed to a knocking noise. I'll take a look at the ARB bushes at the weekend!

mine is doing the same and I've been told I've got play in a track rod end and the connection between the steering rack and rod (sorry I don't know the name of this)
also I've got 2 ball joints to change. So I'm thinking its something to do with one of these. If it isn't am burning it cos am fed up with everything breaking on it in the past 3 weeks.

me too... Mines started to creak alot! - seems like its coming directly from below the foot rest area though..

I had creaking in my car at low speeds and it turned out to be a worn lower suspension ball joint (I think that's the name of it). It was replaced and the noise was gone.

cool cheers... the noise is horrible though, its like a creaking/bumping noise.. but not quite a knocking sound.. close to it but not quite if that makes sense
