Creaking clutch pedal

Since i got my 172 the clutch pedal has already felt abit shite. Sometimes it can be able of a pain to push down othertimes its fine. It seems to get worse the longer the car is driven.

The clutch itself works fine, no slips at all but the pedel when depressed slowly make the worst creaking sound that can be easyily heard from outside of the car.

Any ideas of what needs replacing/adjusting etc?

a quick fix is some wd40 iirc , stops the creaking but not for long

So a proper fix is? Whole new pedal?

This is commern thing on 172's I take it?

yeah common thing, normally happens when it gets hot

its more the cable issue rather than the pedal

It happen when is the question you cannot answer lubricate it is always a good service thing anyway.

mine creaks really bad! however im putting a new engine and gearbox in on thursday will this creaking noice still be there?

Are you chnaging the clutch and thrust beaing (worthwhile always)

Check/change the cable if your bothered.
