Creeking noise/knocking noise??

It's driving me nuts. When the car is warmed up in traffic, I get a creeking noise coming from the passenger side behind the centre console when I turn the steering wheel slightly, and it knocks when pulling away and just before I stop.

It was in the dealers yesterday, to repair the sheared bolt on the top gearbox mount, but it wasn't that as it still doing it this morning.

I've been told it may be the loose steering rack bolts.

Anyone got any ideas???

Did the dealers not tell you what it was?

top mount bearing? top mount rubber bit?

jack it up and wobble that wheel about and see if you canwork out if there is any play anywhere

Nope!

They said that mount was the problem, which they repaired.

But as I thought it would it came back with the same creeking and knocking even with the mount fixed. I just don't want to take it back and pay even more money.

Hopefully i'll get LemonNobby1 to have a look at it soon or i'll have to put up with it for the next 2000miles untill I take it down to Carlton Garage for it's 36k Service.
