Crosshair Motherboard - Whats The Fastest Ram

I have the Crosshair Motherboard (590l Nvidia Chipset) with a Phenom 9950 2.6ghz Quad Core Processor & have really crap value ram that I got when I first got my PC. Anyway had a look last night and I think my ram is on its way out as instead of each stick being 433mhz they have fallen and are now running at 200mhz each WTF!.

I was wondering if any1 could help me and give some advice on the fastest ram I could get that will work on my motherboard?. Been looking at some OCZ PC2-9600 4GB set running at 1200mhz, but not sure if they will work with my motherboard?.

If it helps I am running the latest BIOS 1207.

Ram doesnt just lose clock speed. Must be a setting in the BIOS

Wouldn't 433MHz RAM show up as 200 on the BIOS?

You don't need RAM that quick mate from what I've read, 4GB of 800MHz RAM would be fine. 1066MHz seems to be recommended if there's some serious overclocking going on.

I have 1066 RAM and I run it at 840 for a 1:1 ratio.
