crossovers and tweeters in the rear??

where abouts can i put the crossovers and tweeters in the back of the car??

anyone got any pics??

i had my standard rear speakers out the other day to wire in some new ones, there is loads of room in the rear quarters to put crossovers in!
As for the tweeters up higher is normally best, around head hight like the front tweeters use your imagination.

yeah, was thinking about underneath where the very rear grilles are in the boot, where it looks as if there should be speakers!

No, i mean in the rear quarters. The plastic door card (even thought there is no door) that is next to you when you sit in the back of your car.
there is tons of room behind there and its really easy to get at too.

yeah i know where you mean mate, id just prefer them easier to put in! im lazy, id put the tweeters behind where the passengers ear is at each side, and the crossover boxes under the plastic panel.

although i have no rear seats so no passengers!"

I wouldn't bother putting comps in the rear, i've done it because I got bored one saturday but it wasn't really worth the hassle for the (limited) improvement.

Coaxils in the rear are more than sufficient - don't even need them now as you have no rear passengers to listen to them

Concentrate your efforts on the front end. Good set of comps (tweeters in A-pillars) and amp them with a decent sub

That is the best way (for sound quality anyhow) just depends what you're after; sound or looks.

thanks for the comments, ive already got some sony xplod good door speakers, but i prefer to fade my music more rearwards which is why i put them in the back.

all in now, soldered all the connections so hopefully they will work as good as they are now for as long as i have them!!

Where abouts did you put the tweets out of interest ? Any pics so I could have a look?, think mine could be more usefully positioned.

sorry mate havent got a pic, but where the parcel shelf fits in, and theres a grill eaither side, just behind where the rea passengers heads will go, i threaded the wires through that grille and put the tweeters just on the grill if u get me?

i can get a photo tomorrow and post it up if you want??
