Cruise Control/Speed Limiter Problem...

I had the car remapped last year and since I had this done I've had no cruise control or speed limiter. It's not the usual thing where they're recalibrating or what ever as I've now done over 1k miles since the remap. Basically when I press the button for the two functions the lights will light on the dash but then when I press the steering controls there's nothing. Everything was working fine before the remap so it's not a wiring fault in the wheel.

Don't really have that much understanding of how remapping works but is it basically that the ECU is like a computer and when you remap the info that is stored on it is overwritten with the new info of the remap?? If this is the case would you use a different map for a car with/without cruise and had my car been remapped with a non-cruise map I'm guessing this would stop it working because the original cruise info on the ECU wouldn't be there anymore?? Along these lines if this has happened I assume another remap with cruise info would be needed to sort the problem??

Any other thoughts on what might be wrong?? I've been waiting to hear back from who done the remap for a few months now but I'm guessing they've forgot about me!

I can't speak from much personal experience but does sound as if you need to get into contact with the people who remapped your ECU! if they're ignoring you then they are probably trying to hide from their mistake! Hope you get it sorted mate

was it a fast chip map? if so, have you got your backup?

Yes it was from what I've been told and no idea about the backup as I didn't do it!

Its because its a 172 and most of them haven't got CC fitted, I had the same thing when I put an rstuner map on my old 172. Had to get henk to sort out a custom file, so try the same thing. Think I had to email him my original cal and firmware though for him to do it which might be a problem as you haven't got it.

Sounds like they have loaded a calibration (map) without CC onto the car.
Would be able to tell you if you hook up a RSTuner and send me a screenhot of the main screen when connected with the car.
