crunching sound while accelerating

I dont think my engine has sounded too good for a while now, sounds very rattly.

Today i drove it and accelerated was in third at the time, and heard a loud crunching sound, wasnt changing gears at the time either.

I am booked in at renault on wednesday, any ideas what i can tell them to look at?

i would tell them to look at the car myself but hey thats me!

Helpful, I cant say check the car over completely, that would cost me loads.

I need to narrow it down a bit to say, gearbox, engine, which parts?

its really gorra be drivetrain related, gearbox, cv's diff etc

yes, its sort of random, but horrible tinny sound is there always.

Centre section was knackered and have since had that fixed, but the vibrations are still there. Plus this crunching sound was quite loud coming from around the centre of the car, behind the centre console.

Could just be a heatshield rattling.
