CUP ALARM PROBS

has anybody had problems with the renault alarm fitted to the cup/172?? i think i just heard mine going off on its own and it def.did yesterday after i parked up and walked down the road it just starting going off?? anybody had similar problems?

I have the alarm fitted to my dci.

Worst think I ever bought it cost me £300 and is no end of trouble although its ok now after going back to the dealer loads of times.

The main problem with the alarm is the sensors there ultra sensative. I had mine turned down in sensitivity by the dealers which help fix it more or so even though they could do with being turned down a little more.

Another sensor problem is the sensors are sometimes so sensitive that the airvents on ther own can set them of. The air coming into the car though the vents is sometimes enough to set them of. Try closing the vents till you can get the car back to the dealer.

Also make sure the bonnet boot and doors are closed as this sets the alarm off after a few seconds.

Be carful if you do decide to lock the car manually, cars have been known to be stolen by thieves setting the alarm of time after time, convincing the owners to turn the alarm of as its broken and then the thieves can break into the car with no trouble.

normally ultrasonic problems although lately weve changed quite a few complete alarms due to ecu problems.

i have had no problems with mine however with my dynamique the car went into the dealer 20 times with faults and each time the computer diog said there was a fault but they couldnot fix it. In the end I got rid of the car but at no time at all did the alarm work on that car in over a year!!!!...I have found out my cup though that the sensors on the front pillars were pointing down so basically the signal was not beiing sent round the vehicle..so my alarm again was not working 100%..I hope you sort out your problems mate

Feckin loads of probs with the alarm. I think thats wot is affecting my immob at the moment too! Trouble is most ren dealers wont touch alarms!

Sad to say im suffering the same prob. Alarm goes off when it feels like it. Its booked into renault next week for the third time to try and fix it. Best get yours booked in as soon as before it gets any worse

this would seem to be a very common fault. i remember when i first started havin probs there were loads of others then.

alarm shouldnt affect immobiliser as the systems are not related/connected in any way.the alarm is added on after production.
