Cup cost

Im on the verge of buying a 172 cup. Just wandering if anyone has got insurance quotes on both the cup and a standard 172 mk2. I know they are both group 16, but do insurance companies not take kindly to the lack of abs (given the claims theyve no doubt had to pay because of it) and the general more race car orientated image? Basically, is there a difference in terms of price for the 2 premiums? Cheers,

wouldnt have thought there was much in it. the probably treat it more as a special edition than as a modified vehicle.

Nope. When I swapped from my 172 to my 172 Cup there was no difference other than to reflect the value of the car.

I didnt in November 2003 when I was buying.

The quote was about £30 a year more on the Cup.

As with all insurance though it depends where you live,age,milage,etc.

Mine was about £60 more a year.

Hardly worth worrying about!

mine costs £490 FC Protected 5yr no clams with zenith.

im 24/6points.

Odd that when you upgrade the suspension to something similar on a std 172, it cost over a £100 extra per year.
