lol Maz i wasnt shouting.
Just pointing out the main things so people can scan over and see what ive highlighted in my point.
Yup Tesco Online assumes your car has no mods/factory options.
Some companies dont ask you everything. It is up to YOU at the end of the day to declare everything.
Be it points, mods, details of yourself etc....
Its a good way of insurance getting out of paying by small little things.
For anyone reading this i shall lay out a easy to follow example:
Car: Renault Clio 182
Cost: £10,000 from new
Extras Added at purchase time:
Sat Nav - £1500
Cup Suspension - £250
Cup Spoiler - £250
Recaros - £1000
(All made up figures)
Total Cost: £13,000
You insure the car as a Renault Clio 182 with Insurance company X.
They assume your car cost you £10,000 only.
So after, your car gets stolen. Insurance Company X now offer you only £10,000 for a new 182.
If you have not told them about the factory options then this can even invalidate your policy. In which case they will probably pay £0.
If they increase your premium when you tell them you had all the above Factory Options then that is because there adding a cost to your premium for having the option they may have to possibly pay out if they replace the vehicle.
This is because the cost of the vehicle has risen from £10,000 to £13,000.
And not because they are just charging a random amount.
