cup shockers ??

Thinking about fitting some eibach springs to my phase 1, with 75000 miles approaching I thought I may as well do the shockers while I am there. Are cup shocks , which seem reasonably priced a good idea, only a road car. Thanks

Seems the be the general consensus.
I've gone for the same setup on my phase 2 172.
