Cup Shocks

Car  Suzuki SV1000S

Just wondered if it was worth changing my mk1 172 shocks for a set of Cup shocks, as someone is selling some for £150,

Or are they the same,

i think they are the same.

the springs are too i think. the rates may be altered but i doubt it.

Spend £150 on eibachs if you havent done so already

I have uprated springs that were on this car when I bought it, But dont know what they are and dont seem that good, Would like to lower it 60mm really, surely that would improve it!

The Cup setup is only 10% stiffer than the mk2 172. (cant remember if its the springs or shocks)

Best be is a set of eibachs, a lot of people on here have got them and are very happy !.

Yeah just spoke to R-tec and they said Eibach but they only lower 30mm and I think mine is more than that now, so maybe just being fussy but seem to have alot of body roll at the rear, what else would help strut?, bushes?

Coilovers.

Actually i wouldnt bother with that remap.

Just get the coilovers.

Look under your car and give us a description of the springs, then you might find out what they actually are!

I think k-tec do some adjustable dampers.

oh yeah, not toooo bad,

they are a bit far away though, was thinking of waiting for a bit because BB are bringing a new set out soon

If they are coilovers can I drop it more than 60mm as on there is says that the rear is only 30mm, not enough for my love of lowness

No, the Cup shocks & springs are different (slightly stiffer), but if youre going to change you may as well go for aftermarket stuff...

Thought so, What do you think to thoes as seem v cheap ^^^^^^
Well £150 for shocks alone aint a great deal, however if you get the springs as well then its ok.

aahhh Confusion are you saying go for the K-tec ones or what, because not sure about either as they only drop the car 35mm

Yes!! 35mm is alot for a 172!!

and they will improve performance no end. far more than a remap could.

eh! Not in a straight line though eh.

Will see this weekend see if anyone else has suspension mods, see how they look
