are they the same size as my mk2 172 whiles,, or are they slightly wider? thanks

they have a slightly greater offset.

They're the same size in terms of 16 x 7 but as Yoz says the offset is lower than the MK2 172 wheels, thats how the cup has a 10mm wider track i.e 5mm either side. In very simple terms the cup wheels sit like / \ where as the mk2 172 sit like | |

The renaultsport clio offset are as follows:

ET45 for 182
ET48 for 172
ET43 for mk1 172
ET38 for cup
