curb fail :(

curbed my nearside front alloy tonight trying to move out the way so a car could squeeze past on a narrow road, gutted tbh, all my alloys are mint, in graphite, and now my front one has a silver curb mark about 4-5 inches long on the rim , also got a nice chunk out my tyre, was going to get new alloys soon anyway, but just means its going to look a mess for a while :dapprove:, may try and touch it up at the weekend, pop down a paint place and try and get a colour match

probably doesn't warrent a thread but it's a s**t feeling :dapprove:

Horrid curbing of the alloy it's the worste ever imo apart from a crash i nearly done my the other day when a ambulance was trying to pass !!!

I know that feeling mate. I did it in one of my previous cars.

My mate crashed his car in front of me and the only way I could avoid smashing in to him was bouncing up the curb, well and truely ruined an alloy.

Unless it really bad no one will notice it while you're driving anyway.

did mine the other day too.
half asleep / still bit drunk, sunday morning.

reversing back along a kerb, steering wheel was straight but the wheels were on an angle.
didnt relise then i heard, kkkhhhuuurrrrrcchhhhhhhh.
black wheels too, so visable!

Yeah the noise was the worst! I was relieved tbh though, cause as my car is pretty low, I thought it was the front bumper/splitter, and was absolutly shitting it, so was abit vexed when I couldn't see anything...untill I looked at the wheel,lol

it is really visable due to the colour of the wheel, such a shame

last time I'm nice and try and do anything for anyone,lol.

Atleast there is one advantage to having standard 15's with massive profile.

Can say I've geniuinly never hit a curb since I got my car. I'd be pissed off if it was somebody elses fault though.

When I got in from work tonight some woman had managed to curb her wheel so badly she'd got stuck. FLOL. It usually tears tyres too so she was lucky!

Be reet, how badly did you do it? Just a smidge or full on chunks out?

ermmm, its not overly bad, not a little scuff or anything but I've seen worse! hoping if I touch it up with something roughly the same colour you wont really notice it!, left a nice mark on the curb though so I can remember it every time I go past now! lol

Man!!! I did that few months back so I`m feeling your pain lol and took it to an alloy wheel repair place and they did an ace job. Cost me £80 but felt good again after as my other wheels are spotless

Defo the last time I`ll do that, was in a bloody rush to get to train station and misjudged gap inbetween the car in the middle of the road and kerb

If those are the graphite 182 wheels, Norwich renault dealers had a mint one in stock which they ordered wrong. I got two cheap!
