Custom fabrication

Anyone know of anywhere other than Bogg Brothers that can make a cheap custom inlet manifold? This is for a set of bike carbs, and not for my clio before people panic about me 'ruining a 197'.

Just looking round for options at the moment, Bogg Brothers can offer the full service I need in house, supply just manifold, or they can jet the carbs and send them back attached to manifold, so pretty much cover all the bases. Just think that their price for manifolds aren't as cheap as they could be.

Interesting project.

Modified a Bogg brothers manifold this week, and it was a lot better quality than the others of theirs i've seen, but could still be improved.

I'd probably have a flange made from a gasket and make up the runners from tube, then get it welded. Means a lot of adjusting and measuring to get the spacing right though.

From what ive read it seems their stuff has got better with time, but circa 200notes for something only alright seems steep to me, hence I'm thinking along the lines you are danny, I just wouldnt know where to start.

Id go with BB, i know its not super cheap, but as Danny has said you can still play around with it and improve it, and they must work as people keep buying them lol

It depends entirely on how much money you want to throw at it, producing a flange can cost as little as £30.00 if laser/water cut from a DXF file for instance, however it would require a couple of hours work to draw up the vectors. You could then create another flange to mount the carbs to using the same technique as above - but with the desired tubing diameter/length/profile fabricated between the two. Once you start to add it all up, unless you have access to the equipment yourself - then the prices linked to BB work are actually quite reasonable - it just depends if as mentioned they produce quality work for the price?
