I need to make custom pipes from my rack to my PAS pump when I fit the F4R into the mk1 shell. Has anyone done this before that could advise me?

Oh and before anyone says it, no I dont want to ditch it! :rasp:

I've ditched mine and its not heavy!!

Leave it off, less to go wrong.

Hasnt someone just bent the pip so its in a loop, so that you dont have to use a pump? im sure iv read it on one of the projects thread, think jord might kno who i mean,

Yeh but you dont use yours as a daily driver? I think I would get annoyed with manual steering day to day! Especially parking in London!

That is just to keep the PAS rack from going dry, wont give you any power steering.

What about going to a breakers and seeing what shaped pipes there are on other cars?

Speak to Matteh aswell, he's kept the PAS in his valver.

Ahh right, didnt know that,
I use mine as a daily driver and iv ditched the pas, switched the steering rack to a Dci one as its 2 turn lock-lock and its much lighter, just incase you want to go down this route,

hose-solutions is your friend

I completely forgot that you suggested this to me before! :o

Did they just send you lengths of pipe and fittings to make up yourself? Any idea on cost or what exactly I should be asking them for?

I sent him the specs of what I wanted and he made them up to suit

he charged me about £25/hose though!!

Not cheap then!

I have just been reading your project on c16v and notvied you went with an electric pump. What was your reasoning for this? Also on the 172 engine where is the pas pump located? Directly under the alternator?
