Cuts out @ 70mph

My mates been having a problem with his valver, when driving along at about 70 or so when he dips the clutch the engines cuts out!!

Any ideas?

2)Idle Speed control valve faulty

3)Over heating/lack of water in water tank/bottle

4)Lamda Sensor

5)?

has it been chipped? Friend of mine had his golf chipped and it wouldnt go over 4k rpm.

na its pretty much standard hes just bought it.

Would that be the same sensor on the speedo cable that always dies?
