Cutting out...

Mate has a Clio 1.4 RT, he was driving today and all of a sudden, it started feeling jumpy, then cut out. He parked up, when he tried to start it it started, then just cut out.... tried to keep the revs up to stay alive but just cut out.... Kept on trying with no luck :S...

Kept pressing the accelerator but nothing happens!

What could be the problem?

Best advise is just a service;
New pugs, rotor arm+ distributor, fuel filter

Also may want to look at if the fuel pump is working
